sponsoring Business Person of the Year

The Richardson family business has joined the Express & Star Business Awards as sponsors of the Business Person of the Year Category. Richardson is a multi-generational family business with a real estate and growth capital portfolio that is embedded across the world.

About our sponsor

As a business founded on hard work, strong leadership and integrity, the Richardson family are delighted to be sponsoring the Business Person of the year category for the Express & Star 2022 Business Awards.

The past 12 months have certainly presented those working in businesses of all shapes and sizes with a host of challenges.

However, such conditions also create opportunities for dynamic business leaders, and we look forward to seeing that recognised amongst the entries for this prestigious award.

Our own business – focused on real estate and growth capital investment in the UK and around the world – has continued to develop and grow over the past 12 months as we have sought out new opportunities for investment.

The Richardson Enterprise Fund was launched in 2020, with up to £100 million available for established businesses in the region who are seeking funding to fuel their growth.

We were also thrilled to open the £160m West Midlands Designer Outlet Village in Cannock in April.

We remain active in exploring new investment opportunities and we welcome any enquiries via e-mail to paul.faulkner@rclpartners.co.uk

Since opening its doors in April 2021, the highly anticipated McArthurGlen Designer Outlet has exceeded footfall expectations, with shoppers visiting the open-air retail and leisure destination looking for designer brand savings.

Situated in the heart of the West Midlands, the designer outlet was the only stand-alone shopping centre to open this year in the UK, with a selection of sought-after international fashion brands including Coach, Kate Spade, Hugo Boss, Levi’s, Lacoste, Tommy Hilfiger, Guess, Calvin Klein, Ted Baker, Reiss, Kurt Geiger, and Joules. Since opening its doors, the outlet has continued to welcome some of the industry’s most exciting and reputable names including Fred Perry and Puma. In addition to retail, the centre is also establishing its eatery offerings, with restaurant brands Wagamama, Starbucks, Five Guys and Pizza Express.

The outlet provides centre guests with year-round savings of up to 60 per cent, all set in an exceptionally designed shopping and leisure environment.

To create a greener, more sustainable retail destination for customers to enjoy, the centre includes around 400 newly planted trees, along with solar panels, on-site beehives, a wormery, electric car charging points and bicycle parking. It also provides direct access to the adjacent nature reserve and a network of footpaths.

Spanning 285,000 sq ft over two phases, the centre has created almost 1,000  jobs.
