This will be the ninth year that Higgs LLP will be sponsoring the Small to Medium Sized Business of the Year category in the Express & Star’s Business Awards. As a firm we believe the SME sector is at the heart of any successful region and that it forms a key part of the thriving West Midlands economy. Our continued support of the Express & Star’s Business awards underlines our commitment to supporting those businesses big and small that help to make this such a vibrant and successful economic region.
The winner of the Small to Medium Sized Business of the Year at the Express & Star Awards will have displayed incredible resilience and strength to battle through the uncertainty of the coronavirus pandemic.
Such qualities have certainly been showcased by Brierley Hill-based Higgs LLP, which continues to be at the very heart of the Black Country legal community and will be sponsoring the category at the awards for a ninth successive year in 2022.
Despite the unprecedented challenges posed by Covid-19, one of the region’s leading law firms has continued to flourish over the last 12 months.
Higgs LLP remains a leading regional law firm that seeks to have a positive and long-term impact upon its people, its clients and its community. A combination of its proud reputation for delivering outstanding client service and showcasing the highest level of legal expertise and advice has provided the foundations for Higgs to continue to enjoy another excellent year of sustained growth across its key service areas.
At the same time, a bright and exciting new era has dawned for the firm with its transition to a Limited Liability Partnership.
There has been virtually no change to the day-to-day running of the firm, but the LLP transition has provided Higgs with a robust but flexible business structure to help deliver its ambitious plans for the future.
Nick Taylor, managing partner of Higgs LLP, said: “We are delighted with the way that the firm and the entire team has stood up to the challenges of the last two years.
“We have been faced with questions the like of which we never thought we would have to consider but Higgs LLP has come out stronger for it and that is testament to our brilliant and hard-working colleagues.
“We have continued to support our core audience of owner-managed businesses across the Black Country, wider West Midlands and beyond and, despite the uncertainty, the region’s economy has largely continued to display a strong performance.
“From property to business services, private client to dispute resolution, family to employment and many more departments, all our teams have continued to forge long-term relationships to ensure we have been – and remain – on hand to offer expertise and support to all our clients.”
At the heart of Higgs LLP’s success and longevity is its people and, aided by the appointment of in-house recruiter Claire Rankovic, the firm has further bolstered its pledge to attract the best legal talent in the region.
Nick concluded: “Our talented and dedicated team continue to support businesses across the West Midlands and our ongoing sponsorship of the Express & Star Business Awards further illustrates our commitment to ensuring we can play our part in ensuring the economic success of the region – and continued growth.”
